Maryland Cosmetology License Renewal
A Maryland cosmetology licence renews on a two-year cycle for $28, and since 1 June 2024 it also requires six hours of approved continuing education. That CE requirement is set by the State Legislature and applies to this board only — Maryland barbers have no CE requirement at all.

- 2Renew onlineRenewal is done through the state's online licensing system. You create a password by identifying yourself, then use it with your registration number.
- 3Shop and salon owners need moreEmployers must have their workers' compensation policy number and the insurance company's name to complete the renewal forms.
- 4Late means reinstatement, not just a late feeOnce the licence has expired a reinstatement fee is assessed automatically on top of the renewal.
